POWERHEADS was established in 1995
and focused on building the finest modified factory cylinder
heads. We were the first company to offer “affordable” CNC ported
heads and may be the only company building highly
modified factory cast iron heads
to this day. POWERHEADS has literally built thousands
of 289-302-351W-351C heads over the years and continues to improve
our methods as time goes on. In 1998 we started modifying OHC modular heads
and by 2000 we were building modular engines,
at this point in time no other US company wanted to build
them. Modular engines are a radical departure from your average
pushrod engine, lots of lessons to learn, and usually the hard
way. After many years
of experience and over 300 modular engine builds, we know these
engines more than any other company. POWERHEADS has recently added a line
of Windsor/Cleveland engines and our newest creations, the “BOSS 351 DOHC” and “BOSS 429C” power plants. Our business is a family owned father/son team,
and we are also serious high performance enthusiast, so we know
what you want and how to build it right. The truth is most all shops and some individuals
have access to a wide assortment of high performance parts,
and that anyone can build your motor. The difference between an excellent running
engine that produces the power and reliability you expected
and paid for, and one that does not or fails, is the expertise
required for selecting the right parts, EXCELLENT machine work and the knowledge, experience and patience needed to correctly
assemble your work. We have a SYSTEM OF ASSEMBLY which involves numerous measurements, calculations
and testing to ensure our customers they made the right choice.
There are lots of companies out there claiming to be “the best”
or offering “low prices” but be aware many subcontract this
work out to cheaper low cost local shops with obsolete equipment
and NO quality control so you can imagine the end result. POWERHEADS has also heavily invested
in a wide assortment of xlnt machinery and equipment to perform
ALL machining and assembly process “in house” to control
the entire process from start to finish ( see our “shop tour” ).
The bottom line is we care
about our work and our reputation and our customers. We want
your project to be successful and fun ! Lets build some horsepower!
