Good engine block machine work is very important. POWERHEADS has developed our own “block blueprint” process which consist of . . . 1) LINE HONE of main journals for proper alignment and installation of new studs/bolts.  2) CBN surfacing of cylinder decks parallel to crankshaft centerline and proper “RA” finish to be compatible with MLS head gaskets.  3) BORE/HONE cylinders to exact size, roundness and straightness finishing with torque plates to simulate the stress of installed cylinder heads. ALL engine blocks will receive this process, even brand new blocks, because we feel it is necessary to achieve the highest level of ring seal, bearing life, horsepower and reliability from the engine.
